Hi--
I descend from his son Magloire. He had a rather early demise from an accidental drowning so he died rather young.
Christophe never converted to Catholicsm, therefore he was buried in a protestant cemetery. His grave was discovered not very long ago after many, many years of searching.
He was a Lutheran and vowed to raise his children as Lutherans if his wife did not do a good job in raising them as Catholics. It is told that he personally carried each of his children to their baptisms.
I believe there is a family association of PAYEURs but I don't have their contact name. The Franco-American gen society in Manchester, NH has published a number of articles about the family so you can contact them at their website and get further information.
If anyone is truly interested I have a lot more information which would be too lengthy to state here.
Happy Hunting,
Carol Ann
