From Schooling in the Clearings - by Kathllen H Brown

Major Boyntons District School pg. 66
"Boynton district existed without a school until 1826, when the inhabitants- including five of Major Boyntons six sons( Edmund, James, William, Gardner & Jesse) petitioned for Royal Institution funding."

Can anyone name the 6th son - and any daughters?
Linda

According to Forests & Clearings by Hubbard and I quote:
"Their children were Deborah, Edmund, James, William, John. Gardner and Jesse P."

The same source shows her as marrying 20 May 1790 Gardner Green, b. 23 Feb 1767 in Concord, NH. Deborah was b. 22 Feb 1777 in London, NH .

Wow !
Wish it was always that easy!
I have been to Stanstead twice( I lice on the west coast) I saw the BF Hubbard book there in the library but was not able to get a copy - I have also seen it on Ebay but have never been the lucky purchaser.
THanks again Jaqueline & Bob!

I've forgotten where I got my copy athough it may have been here and they appear to have it available:
<http://www.heritagebooks.com/miva/merchant.mv?Screen=SRCH&am...; watch the line wrap on that url if any!

Just do a search there on Hubbard. They have it for US$30. ""The History of Stanstead County, Province of Quebec, With Sketches of More Than Five Hundred Families"

The information in the Hubbard book regarding the birth date of Deborah Boynton is plainly wrong. If she were actually born in 1777, she would have been only 13 in 1790. Nobody got married at age 13 then. New Hampshire vital records show that she and Gardner Green were married on 25 Jul 1793 by a justice of the peace at Concord, NH. The record states they were both residents of Loudon, NH, at the time.

Even with the correct marriage date, she would have only been 16 then if the birth date is correct. I have been unable to find any confirmation of her birth date. I'd have to check, but I'm not sure she could have legally gotten married at age 16 in NH then. If B.F. Hubbard got her marriage date wrong, he may have gotten her birth date wrong too.
