I have been searching the family of Francois Xavier Bilodeau and question first name Osithe McLean, Maclin, McClyne (each time spelled differently). I belive I found the family in 1852 census in St. Gervais, Bellechasse. Xavier b. St. Michael age 34, Osithe Macnille b. St. Ballin ? I can't really understand this towns name? age 29 and three sons, Xavier 7, Pierre 6, Friole (Francois) all b. St. Charles. I did find Pierre and Francois in St. Charles. Now I want to look for the marriage record and assume I should go to the wife's town but I can't make that out right now.
My in-laws are Canadian, and my father in law once told me his grandmother was an Irish orphan with the name Mc something. He could'nt remember. And it looks like the story is panning out but this would be his great-grandmother I believe. Pierre Bilodeau was his grandfather.
