Caissy / Quessy m. Huard (Abel Huard & P Roussy)

I am definitely related to the Dumaresq but I am not sure if they are from the Quebec Lower North Shore or the Labrador Straits. I do have a number of Dumaresq names that go back to the 1700's but I have a lot of pot holes that need filling in. I would dearly appreciate it if you could help me fill in my pot holes and find my family roots.

Alice

That town is in the North of Quebec, 200 km for Labrador City and 500 km from Sept-Iles, on the Quebec side. You won't find it in the 1911 Census because it exists only since 1955 as a town because of the opening of mining operations. The actual board for Schefferville is: Quebec / Cote-Nord Board.

In 1911, the region of this part of Quebec (Cote Nord) would be in the "Chicoutimi and Saguenay" district.

By giving the details of the individual (name, dates, approx. location, etc.), maybe we can help you .

Melvina and Jack are my great-grandparents. They moved to Wood's Island in the Bay of Islands in Western Newfoundland. They had several children, including Samuel, Azariah, Wallace, James, Leslie and Cecil. She is buried on Wood's Island. Do you have any new information on her?
