Je cherche le nom des parents de Pierre Caissy qui aurait épousé une Huard (Geneviève, Marie ou Mariane)et les mariages de leurs enfants ont tous été enregistrés sous le nom de Quessy. Dans tous ces mariages le nom de la mère était Geneviève Huard. Ils ont été célébrés soit à Rivière St-Jean ou Rivière Pentecôte entre les années 1906 et 1937. Au recencement de 1901, on retrouve un Pierre Quicy (né 1871) à Pointe-aux-Esquimaux et son épouse Marie (née juillet 1871). Au recensement de 1911, la même famille est inscrite à l'Ile Anticosti, sous le nom Cassie (Pierre né 1865), et la mère est Mariane (née 1868). Parmi les noms des épou(ses)des enfants de Pierre et Geneviève on retrouve Girard, Gagné, Germain et Dupuis. Les parents de l'épouse de Pierre seraient Abel Huard et Philomène Roussy de Paspébiac. Tout indice sur l'identité de Pierre serait grandement apprécié.

Where do I put questions about Scheffeville? I not good at Canada at all. I was looking in Canada census 1911 but I didnt know what district Scheffeville belongs to. Is it no easier way to search the Canada census then looking thrue every side? (Like US census where you can search on name)

District: QU CHICOUTIMI & SAGUENAY (#149)
Subdistrict: Natashquan B(2) Page 6 and page 6 list Francois Abraham, 20; and wife Charlotte, 21. Paul Abraham, 21, and wife Helene, 17 also appear at Natashquan in 1901.

Looking for any info about Domitilde (sp ?) St. AMAND or St. AMANT -- dau. of Calixte St. AMAND & Bazelisse (sp ?) ROULEAU; b. aft 1836; m. Arsene (sp ?) JEAN, possibly Moise, PQ; lived in the Rimouski area of PQ -- abt 1881; later in MA, USA -- late 1800s to early 1900s. This is my 2G-grandmother. Any help on this family would be appreciated.

Oscar Wilhelm Bengtsson (Benson)
born:1876 in Sweden
He emigrated 1907.

From old letters I found out that he lived in Schefferville, but what years I dont know, but I have to start somewhere.

I am thrilled to see this message regarding my family tree of Dumaresq, Hamilton, Pike, Taylor. Elizabeth Dumaresq has always been a hugh mystery to me. This is the first public link to my great grandmother. I would really like to receive more information about this wonderful lady. Have an Angelique Dumaresque married to Isaac Johnston , living in Montreal, Quebec, Canada (don't know if this is the Lower North Shore) with children being born 1809-1822. Need help in finding parents and siblings of Angelique. Also, would love to correspond with others connected to this family. Thank you

I am fairly new to checking out family history and now that I am started, the more intrigued I am. I am definitely related to the Dumaresq but I am not sure if they are from the Quebec Lower North Shore or the Labrador Straits. I do have a number of Dumaresq names that go back to the 1700's but I have a lot of pot holes that need filling in. I would dearly appreciate it if you could help me fill in my pot holes and find my family roots.

That town is in the North of Quebec, 200 km for Labrador City and 500 km from Sept-Iles, on the Quebec side. You won't find it in the 1911 Census because it exists only since 1955 as a town because of the opening of mining operations. The actual board for Schefferville is: Quebec / Cote-Nord Board.

In 1911, the region of this part of Quebec (Cote Nord) would be in the "Chicoutimi and Saguenay" district.

By giving the details of the individual (name, dates, approx. location, etc.), maybe we can help you .

Do you mean Schefferville, New Foundland? The small town is located on the border of the provinces of Quebec and NewFoundland.and Labrador....which makes things confusing..it is an isolated area...

Domitille St-Amand (Calixte & Basilisse Rouleau) mar. Arsène Jean (Jean-François & Marie Pelletier) 04-27-1868 in MOISIE (located on the north shore of the St-Lawrence River, P.Q.).

I know they had at least 4 children: Joseph, Alfred, Delvina, Louis. Do you know other children?

I have had difficulty finding anything about Melvina Goudie because our family has always referred to her as Amelia. She is listed in the Newfoundland cenuses as Amelia. The name Melvina is actually a recent revelation to our family!

Melvina and Jack are my great-grandparents. They moved to Wood's Island in the Bay of Islands in Western Newfoundland. They had several children, including Samuel, Azariah, Wallace, James, Leslie and Cecil. She is buried on Wood's Island. Do you have any new information on her?

I am a granddaughter of Benjamin Bobbitt and Amelia Elizabeth Head of New Waterford N.S., They had 11 children and 34 grandchildren.Granny was 85 two years ago and we had a family reunion in Surrey B.C. Including the great grandchildren there are 111 of us now! Granny's 87 in April and still as strong as an ox!
