Does anyone have any idea where the following places are on the Cote-Nord? Washtawake and Kegaska? I know they are in the vicinity of Havre St-Pierre and Natashquan as I have seen them referred to in parish registers from these places, but have they become another establishment with a new name? Thanks for your help. Dennis

Yes, the places still exist. Kegaska is a village on the Quebec Lower North Shore. It is not connected by road to the outside world only by boat and plane. Has a population of maybe 200 people. Washtawake however is no longer inhabited. It is still as always a place where people fished. You may wish to check the Quebec Lower North Shore GenWeb site at www.rootsweb.com/~qclns/ to find more information on Kegaska.
