I am researching my Irish ancestors who lived in the St-Sylvestre, Ste-Agathe and St-Gilles areas during the 1800s. Most ended up in New Hampshire by the 1880s.

My surnames in this area include: McCaffrey, McCollum/McKellum/Cullen/Kelm, Ryan, Croak/Croke, Hopkins, Lappin, Colleran and Foy. There are some families in the area that I have not been able to tie into my family from the paper trail, but have suspicions they are siblings/etc... In particular, I've noticed other lines nearby that include Ryan, Hopkins, Foy and McCaffrey.

I did the Ancestry.com DNA test and am hoping other members researching this area will also do the test. Anyone who has done the test could comment on this thread. If we're lucky, maybe we'll find some suggested cousin matches that could help suggest connections between lines that are not currently connected by the records available.
