This is an off-shoot to the posting, "Question RE: Parish Cemetery Notre-Dame-de-la-Victorie, Lévis" I did back in mid Mar 2011.
http://boards.ancestry.com/localities.northam.canada.quebec....At the time I learned the bodies that had been in this parish cemetery were moved & reburied in a mass grave in the then new Cimetière Mont-Marie in 1885.
The link posted to canadianheadstones.com showed the memorial on the grave with the inscription, "ICI REPOSENT
LES RESTES MORTELS DE 15000 CADAVRES EXHUMÉS DE L'ANCIEN CIMETIÈRE EN 1885"
I've just found another photo of the monument @
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&tl...And the information there seems to indicate that there is another inscription somewhere on the monument that reads, "Reposent ici les ancêtres des familles souches de Lauzon"
Does anyone know about this second possible inscription?
