Would anyone have access to the 1851 Census for Bellechasse/St Gervais et Protais? I have a copy from the National Archives on interlibrary loan but the copy is not very good. On page 106 #1, the first name is Regi....Roy son of Joseph Roy/Catherine Fradette. I cannot make out the name and it is possible that it is my gggrandfather Regis Roy. His age is listed as 18 & he was born in St. Gervais. Any help would be appreciated.

Bonne chance!

Merci. I will look into obtaining a copy of this work. The National Archives lists it as a 16 volume work but hopefully I can get tome 14 ...a Roy via interlibrary loan.
Again, merci beaucoup.

bonjour,
Talbot's works are out of print. The right have been acquired by a Gen. Association in RI I believe. IT is made of several volumes but generally bound in 5 vol. There is a set for the counties of Bellechasse-Montmagny-L'Islet.
Another one for the counties of Dorchester-Beauce and Frontenac.
Using BMS2000, I cannot find a marriage record for Regis Roy. However, I do find marriage records for three sons of Joseph and Catherine.
I have access to Talbot's works at my Gen. Society and I will have a look to find out if Regis got married.
Joseph son of Etienne Roy and Marie-Louise Guillemette, married Catherine Fradet-Fradette-Fredette (d/o Clemet Fradet and Catherine Morin, on 26 Oct 1830 at St-Gervais.

Hello:
I have looked at Talbot's works. As children of Jos Roy and Cath. Fradet who got married in the nearby counties, he has:
Jos. who married Cath. Gontheir
Eulalie
M1: Gervais Borchu
M2: Louis Dallaire
Alexandre: married Malvina Labrecque
Diogene who married Esther Chabot.
If there was a son name Regis, he may not have reached adult life or never got married, or got married outside the surrounding counties or emigrated to another region or country.
