I am looking for families of Elie Biron m Elizabeth Raymond. He died in October of 1927 at St. Leonard de Aston. I can't figure out what section of Nicolet that is in to find a church. Catherine Biron b 1868 m 1893 Harmidas Moreau is one of their chldren. A son Joseph was married several times and I believe he stayed in that area. I keep looking around the internet for information about the area, like a history or newspaper or something to help me learn more about them and the area. My lack of knowledge is appalling. Can anyone help? Thank you for anything you can offer.

Thank you for the information. I have a question: who is Marie Elmina? You have given her birthdate of 18 Jun 1870 and Marie Louise as 25 Aug 1870. Catherine Biron Moreau is my g-grandmother. I am looking for a church or other information about them in the Nicolet area of Quebec, but I am excited that someone else knows about them. I have Joseph Biron d 16 Jan 1943, but not where. Do you have anything else? Again, thank you.

I realize that the original query is quite old. However, some of the information that was provided to it are inaccurate.

Elie Biron and Elizabeth Rattier dite Raymond were married in 1868, not 1867 (Source: Drouin Collection, 1868, Cathédrale de l'Assomption).

That alone makes it highly unlikely that the Catherine, allegedly born in March 1868 would have been their daughter. Furthermore, given that most French-Canadian children were baptized within a day of their birth, and generally no longer than a week later, one would expect to find a record of the baptism in the records of Ste-Anne-de-Baupré. Yet there is no such record in 1868 at that church.

Although I've seen a few birth records where there have been less than nine months between two children, it's almost incredulous to think that Elizabeth bore two children in a matter of two and a half months. One can confirm the birth of Marie Elmina (Source: Drouin Collection, 1870, Pointe-du-Lac), but there is no entry for Marie Louise in that year at that church.

Zéphise could have possibly been born in Nicolet, but if she had, it is likely that she would have been baptized there. Her baptism is recorded in Trois-Rivières (Source: Drouin Collection, 1872, Cathédrale de l'Assomption).

Elie Biron and Elisabeth Raymond had two daugthers named Catherine. The first one was born March 25, 1868 in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, Montmorency County, QC. She likely died before 1871 since she is not in the census form then (see http://data2.collectionscanada.ca/1871/jpg/4395482_00256.jpg). At that time Elie and his family were living with his mother Mathilde Dupont, a widower, (on previous census sheet) and a couple of siblings. Melina, aged 1 year old, was born August 25, 1870 and baptized under the name Marie Emilina the following day at Pointe-du-Lac, St-Maurice County, QC.

The second Catherine was born March 8, 1874 in Ste-Flore de Grand'Mere, Champlain County, QC. She was the one that I have linked to Joseph Hormisdas Moreau.
