I am looking for records of births, baptisms and burials at this parish. Does anyone know a good spot to search? Does the church still stand?

Under Quebec Vital & CHURCH RECORDS, you choose the letter B (on your right),then BAIE-DU-FEBVRE. You will find the church records of St-Antoine-de-Padoue and choose the year that you need.

Surnames: Precourt Precour Vanasse Boisvert Gauthier Young
29 March 2013 from Warren Forsythe

-
from 1817-1822 all of the children of Joseph Precourt and Therese Boisvert appear in the records of St Antoine
-
EXCEPT 1820 child Antoine Precourt
-
Now after 20 years of off-and-on searching Bernard Vanasse sent me the record of that 1820 child from Nicolet, in adjacent Nicolet County, Quebec
-
my compilation of that child at
http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi?op=GET&d...
-
and here is my transcription of the 1820 baptism, which does refer back to St. Antoine Parish :
-
29 March 2013Thanks to Bernard Vanasse, we can actually examine the 3 July 2013 baptismof Antoine Precourt in Parish of St Jean Baptiste, Nicolet, Nicolet County, Quebec rough transcription and approx translation just for people who don’t read French, with some help from my wife Kay Scribner Forsythe, granddaughter of Theresa Precourt b. 1880.Kay studied one year 1962-3 in a French school in Neuilly, France This is brief to read into my internet database, which can’t accept actual photos of record books, & please ask if you need more interpretation:page 23 (maybe double-page spread page number including facing left page where baptism begins) 1820 Nicolet, Nicolet, QuebecCathedrale St-Jean-Baptiste Registres“Le trois Juillet huit cent vingt [3 Jul 1820], par moi pretre cure souligne[=undersigned priest] a ete baptise antoine ne d’hier [born yesterday] du legitime mariage de Joseph Precour cultivateur de la Paroisse de la Baye St. Antoine & de Therese Boivert & (short condensation of rest) parain Francois Boisvert & la maraine Marie Gauthier....(English language: by me, the undersigned curate [parish?] priest had baptized Antoine, born yesterday [2 July 1820] of the legitimate marriage of [father] Joseph Precour planter/farmer of La Baye St. Antoine parish [in adjacent Yamaska County] and [mother] Therese Boisvert, with godfather Francois Boisvert and godmother Marie Gauthier........” ~Warren Forsythefor database ildaunewtest at http://wc.rootsweb.com

the web site she refers to is on ancestry.com at:
-
http://search.ancestry.com/search/db.aspx?dbid=1091
-
I found that by ancestry.com -- search tab at top
then birth-marr-death, then births, then canada,
then the top database was the above website
-
which it calls
Quebec, Vital and Church Records (Drouin Collection), 1621-1967 [with 14 million names on that database]
-
on that database, at the right side of the screen is BROWSE
-
choose first letter of the name of the place (locality) where you want to browse the vital records [not Le or La ?]
-
then next level below, we can see all the places available starting with the first letter selected above
-
probably we have to try different guesses for the official parish name they are using?
-
Unless somewhere there is a cross index of unofficial locality names to help us find how they spelled the parish?
-
~~Merci bien encore mille fois clairelanthier12 !!
