Surnames: Buckley/ Tooey/Williams/Nolan
Looking for relatives of my ggrandmother, Bridget A. Buckley. Born in Tingwick @1844 to Patrick Buckley from Co. Limerick, Ireland and Margaret Toohey of Co. Tyrone, Ireland.
3 siblings I know of -Catherine married Patrick Nolan 5/2/1871 in St.Patrice-de-Tingwick, Andrew married Helen Williams 2/6/1877, Sara married Denis Williams 2/5/1870. I believe her mother was somehow related to her husband's mother, Bridget Toohey. Appreciate any help.

My ggggrandmother Catherine Buckley was I believe a sister to Patrick Buckley who married Margaret Toohey. Catherine was married to James Brown and lived in Tingwick area. Catherine died in 1837 and her husband James in 1840. Their son James Brown married Mary Ann Goggin (d.o. Edmund Goggin & Mary Ann Hodnett). Mary Ann's sister Johanna Goggin was married to Thomas Williams who was a brother of Denis Williams who married Sarah Buckley.

I have abstracted numerous birth, death and marriages from the microfilms of St. Patrice de Tingwick parish. Please contact me for information on Patrick Buckley/Margaret Toohey and their children. Who was your grandmother Bridget Buckley married to?

Bridget was daughter to Patrick born 1844 in Tingwick and was the second wife to my ggrandfather, Michael Caldbeck, in St. Johnsbury, VT. m. 4/12/1880. She was a widow of John Welsh m. 9/2/1862 at St.Patrice de Tingwick. His first wife had died in Jan. of that year in childbirth and I believe Bridget was also Michael's cousin who came down to take care of the children and stayed to marry him. I'd love anything on the Buckley's or even better on the Toohey's because Michael's mother was a Toohey and I think that's how the couple were related. Do have a Catherine, Andres and Sara Buckley and a son of Andres, Edward Buckley, who was best man at my grandparent's wedding.

I can't help with the Buckley's but my husband's ggrandfather, Edward Twohey was your Margaret's brother. His wife was Bridget Johnson and they had 12 children.
How did you find out they came from County Tyrone?

My husband's ggrandfather was Edward Twohey who married Bridget Johnson in 1841. They had eleven children - Mary, Bridget, Margaret, James, Matthew, Patrick,Katherine, Edward, John, Elizabeth, and Thomas John.

James, Matthew and Patrick moved to Olympia, Washington and Edward and Michael moved to Lowell, MA. Michael was my husband's grandfather and he married Margaret Murphy in Tingwick in 1887

County Tyrone was listed on the St.-Sylvestre marriage document as the place Margaret had come from.

From my research, Edward Twohey, born abt 1818 in Ireland, was the son of Mathew Twohey and Mary Murphy who after immigrating resided first in Iverness and later in Tingwick. He had the following siblings that I am aware of:
Mary Twohey who married John Farrell 3 Nov 1833, Notre-Dame de Quebec;
John Twohey, born abt 1814 married Mary Somerset 29 Aug 1836 at St.-Sylvestre, Lotbiniérre, Quebec and settled in Tingwick.
Margaret Twohey, born abt 1816, died 25 Jul 1861, Tingwick married Patrick Buckley, 08 Sep 1835 at St.-Sylvestre, Lotbiniérre, Quebec and settled in Tingwick. My connection is through this line. Patrick Buckley was the brother of my ggg grandmother Catherine Buckley.

You indicate that Edward Twohey and Bridget Johnson had 12 children. From my research I have 14 children for this couple. In the 1871 Canadian Census of Chenier, Arthabaska, Province of Quebec, the following are listed:
Edward Twohey, age 52 born Ireland
Bridget, age 48, born Quebec
Mary, age 28, born Quebec
Bridget, age 27, born Quebec
James, age 21, born Quebec
Matthew, age 19, born Quebec
Margaret, age 23, born Quebec
Michael, age 17, born Quebec
Patrick, age 14, born Quebec
Catherine, age 12, born Quebec
Edward, age 10, born Quebec
John, age 8, born Quebec
Elizabeth, age 6, born Quebec
Sarah, age 3, born Quebec
Thomas, age 7 months, born September

Searching microfilms of church records, I have birth and baptisms of the first 7 children which included George Twohey b, 1846 who doesn't appear on the above census. If you don't have these dates, I can provide them.

Perhaps you have this information. I found a marriage record of Edward Twohey and Bridget Johnson 17 Nov 1841 at Cathedrale St-Michel de Sherbrooke, Quebec. Bridget Johnson was the daughter of George Johnson and Mary Mulders or Mulderig.. Witnesses were the father of the bride George Johnson and friend Patrick Foy.

I also have some information on Patrick and Sarah Murphy who were parents of Margaret Murphy who married Michael Twohey. Let me know what you might need.
