Surnames: Ricken, McManamy, Walsh
I recently found this board and if anyone is still following it, I may be able to help. I have records of my McManamy family with close contact to a Walsh family of Sherbrooke. Daniel Alphonse McManamy b 1884 married Mary Josephine Walsh jun 22 1914 in St Patrick,s Sherbrooke. It may be possible that there is a Ricken connection, since my grandfather Joseph McManamy (D. Alphonse's brother) married Mary Alice Ricken, who had a brother named Augustine or Augustus.
In my records I have that Mary J. Walsh's father was the president of a railroad company, which would correlate with Shannon's info about Margaret Walsh's father being rich. However, I don't know that Augustus Ricken immigrating from Ireland very young, although it could be true. I Have in my records that he was the mayor of Chicoutimi. please email me!
