This looks promising. My Great great grandmonther Bridget Corcoran married Joseph Lachaux, who died, and then married my Great Great Grandfather, Charles Black Murphy. Bridget and Charles are both buried in St. Raymond, but I recall some connection with Gardiner. I will have to check this.

Hello, I'm not sure if we are looking up the same Alluisi family however I was willing to ask.

My 2nd great grandfather was Joseph Alluisi married to Celia Quirk - Alluisi. They had 4 children Genevieve, Madeleine, Arthur, and Lorraine.

All I know of Joseph's parents is that his mother was French-Canadian and his father either French or American. Documents have been sketchy at best. After the 1900 Census in Yonkers,NY he disappeared and Celia is listed as a widow in all other documents after 1920.

We were always wondering if he traveled to Canada for work or family and something happened to him. There are no cemetery records here or death index.

Do we share a family connection? If so, do you have any information on Joseph? Eagerly awaiting any news you have to share with me either way!

I am looking for information on Jean Baptiste Perusse His father was Jean Baptiste Perusse and his mother Josephte Duchemin.
Jean Baptiste (son) is born about 1825 and dead about 1873-1878.
A first time, Jean Baptiste Perusse (son) married Cecile Hamelin said Laganiere on June 24th, 1851. A second time, he married Clarisse Houde on Feb 1st, 1858.
I do not know 1) the date of his birth and his birthplace and 2. the date of his death and his deathplace.

Je suis bien content de recevoir une réponse de votre part. Effectivement, nous parlons de la même personne quoique,en regardant attentivement la microfiche de son baptême, je pencherais plus pour Éléazar. Mais bon!

Je ne sais pas si j'ai la berlue: j'ai épluché les registres de la paroisse de Grondines à plusieurs reprises sans trouver aucune trace de son décès.

En lisant votre réponse, j'ai encore consulté les microfiches de l'Institut Drouin selon votre date de référence dans les registres de la paroisse de Grondines. Rien n'y fait: le registre de l'année 1875 contient 33 feuillets (au lieu de 44) et aucune mention de ce décès à la date indiquée. J'ai feuilleté les années suivantes sur plus de 10 ans sans rencontrer une année avec 44 pages. Existe-t-il d'autres fichiers que je ne connais pas sur Grondines ?

Une autre question qui demeure sans réponse: Justinne Pérusse (née le 5 avril 1829) et Ursule Pérusse (décédée le 27 novembre 1848 à l'âge de 19 ans) sont-elles la même persone ou deux personnes différentes ?

En effet, le Jean-Baptiste Pérusse dont vous me donnez l'information a marié Josephte Duchemin le 9 novembre 1819 à St-Charles des Grondines. De leur mariage, seraient issus 7 enfants dans cet ordre: François Jean, Charles Alexis, Jean Baptiste Éléazard, Marie-Henriette, Marie-Zoë, Justine ou Ursule, et Marie-Vénérante.
C'est le cas de leur fils Jean-Baptiste Éléazard (qui était toujours nommé Jean ou Jean-Baptiste) qui m'interroge. Celui-ci serait décédé je ne sais où entre le 3 novembre 1873 et le 25 janvier 1876. J'ai retrouvé sa date de naissance à Grondines, il y a quelques jours, mais je n'ai jamais retrouvé sa date exacte de décès et l'endroit de son décès (ou de ses funérailles.
Avez-vous des tuyaux à ce sujet?

For instance, I have located a copy of their marriage record and they were married on July 30 1907 at Portneuf (Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs). I have the global package as well and because the civil registry in UK only was started in 1837 and I have found them in the 1841 census, the balance of my searching will have to be in parish registries which are spotty at best. Thank you so much for your offer though. Number one priority is your daughter and I hope she regains good health soon.

Good morning Paul. Yes, I am in the U.S. The great wide open spaces of the southwest. I would love to see the pictures you have. I have a possible distant relative that made the trip to Bourg-Louis a couple years ago but have not heard anymore other than a few pictures. From the church records I found on Ancestry there were quite a number of Grays there but I haven't had much success tying them together. Our known Gray family history is rather vague and/or muddled and ends with my g-g-grandfather. My e-mail address is bebald@citlink.net and I would be happy to share. The family story with which I began my research 7 years ago was that my Tomlinsons had settled in Quebec, so I naturally was drawn to the group in Bourg-Louis/Port Neuf. However, I quickly learned that my family lived in Quebec for less than 10 years, between 1841 & 1850. My great-grandfather was born in Montreal, but the family had moved to Toronto by 1850 when his sister was born. So, alas, I have no connection to your Quebec Tomlinsons. Wish I could help.

My research & a visit to Yorkshire, England in 2005 has revealed that Tomlinson is/was a very common name in that region. So while it is possible we are connected because of that, I have nothing definite to link us at this time. If you wish, I could possibly use my World membership to do a little hunting for you in the British census & vital records. However, right now, I'm not getting much time for family research, as my daughter is in hospital.

Unfortunately, upon subsequent research, I'v learned that I am not descended from the Bourg-Louis/Portneuf Tomlinsons. The family story had my Tomlinsons settling in Quebec, so I naturally was drawn to that group in Quebec. And while my great-grandfather was born in Montreal in 1847, my Tomlinson family stayed less then 10 years in Montreal, moving to Toronto by 1850.

Mary Jane Tomlinson married John H Gray and were my maternal great grandparents. The emigrated to the US and finally settled in Kansas City, KS. I have accumulated quite a bit of misc. data which you probably also have but would be very glad to share. I've reached that proverbial brick wall myself. Tore out my hair trying to find a birth record for Mary Jane. Found all the others but not hers.

My records show John Tomlinson & Jane Jackson with kids William 1834 and Ann 1837 and Isabella 1839 and Elizabeth 1841 emmigrating from Yorkshire to Bourg Louis Quebec. There they had John 1850 Mathew 1852 Mary Jane 1854 James 1856 and Thomas 1859 (my great grandfather). Can share more if you want to go down that road. Would appreciate any UK leads you may have.

I too am descended from John Tomlinson & Jane Jackson. Mary Jane Tomlinson and Thomas Tomlinson her youngest brother would be our link. Thomas married Matilda Livingston and both are buried in Bourg Louis. One of their sons ( my grandfather ) relocated to Hamilton Ontario. Further dates & people could be shared if you want to go down this road.
I have hit a roadblock after the 1841 UK census since civil registration only began in 1837. Any leads in that direction would be appreciated

I have a line of decendents of John Tomlinson & Jane Jackson who were my 2nd great grandparents. Their youngest son Thomas married Matilda Livingston and one of their sons was my grandfather who relocated to Hamilton Ontario and married Hannah Galloway.
