My ancestor John Tomlinson b.abt 1850 Montreal? his brothers...Alex, Sam and Joseph and sister Mary all came to the USA around 1872 ...their parents were John and Mary Merrell Tomlinson both b. Ireland....I don't know if this might be the Portneuf Tomlinson's or not...John, Alex and Sam came by ship thru Panama Canal and to San Francisco with 2 Murphy brothers... Joseph went to Chicago..
