I am seeking background information please regarding the detachment of 11th Regt Devonshire Guards, firstly at Quebec 1839 and then at Temiscouata 1839-1840. My ancestor was Richard BRUCE, a soldier in this regiment. The other names; William James THORNE and Edward Thomas SIBLEY, were also soldiers in this regiment but I do not know if they were in Canada at this time. They later married daughters of Richard Bruce. I apologise that my French is too rusty to be able to communicate in that lovely language. Jennifer

Thank you very much. I'm in communication with Bev Nairn, who supplied the information originally for this site. However, some of the information had been updated and I had not been aware of that. Again, thank you.
Jennifer
