Baby boy born 1953, adopted in Montreal, family from Rimouski or Kamouraska areas...

This is a shot in the dark, but hopefully the right people read this. My husband's father was born in 1953 (allegedly Nov. 3, 1953) and was adopted by a Jewish family in Montreal. Of course, he isn't Jewish by birth, but rather French Canadian. He was one of the black market adoption babies from that time period. I suspected as much for years but then my husband did the DNA tests via FTDNA and 23andme.com and it confirmed such. We have a lot of relatives coming up in Rimouski and Kamouraska (and surrounding areas) and in Maine and in Vermont. Possible surnames associated with one of the biological parents include: Roy, Paradis and Desjardins, and others. Like I said, a shot in the dark. My father-in-law is almost six feet tall, had blond hair as a child but it turned almost black as he got older, blue eyes, biggish nose, big ears, known back issues and his feet point outward. Also developmental delays with males in the family (late walkers, mostly). My email is theappeltree@hotmail.com

Charlotte Martin was born 15 December 1832 in Lake Superior Area. She was the daughter of Solomon Martin and Lisette Dupere. They were married on 25 November 1854 in Ste-Anne, Mackinac Island, Michigan. I found children:
Joseph M. Rousseau born abt. 1867, Charlotte Rousseau born abt. 1868, Charles Rousseau born abt 1871 and John Jonas Rousseau born 17 May 1875 in Beaver Island, Charlevoix, Michigan and died 25 January 1950 in Duluth, St-Louis Minnesota, USA. Hi,

I'm working on a 15 year old brick wall and I'm grasping at straws right now hoping to find some connection with my 2nd great grandfather.

My 2nd great grandfather was Charles Rousseau, born abt. 1832 in Canada. He wound up in Michigan by 1860 when I found him on the 1860 Michigan census with his wife Charlotte Martin and her father, Solomon Martin. Charles and Charlotte had several kids together and if needed I will provide their information.

I have not been able to find a birth record for Charles because I have no birth date, actual year, place or parents names. I can't find any marriage record for him or death record for him or Charlotte...I'm at a loss.

So here I go begging for help...I have found a Charles Rousseau born 1832 in L' Isle-Verte-Quebec who came to the USA in 1846 and was Naturalized on March 7, 1882. If you are related to or have any information about this Charles Rousseau please contact me and we can compare notes to see if this may be my 2nd great grandfather.

There are two Cyrille Damours that I know of from the Trois-Pistoles (Riviere du Loup) region.The first was born in 1805 and the second in 1886.
Can you list more names of the siblings?

Searching for anyone with the last name Young from Riviere-du-loup or Rimouski. Lawrence Young B. 1866 in NB, moved from Moncton to Riviere-Du-loup to follow the railway as he worked for CN Rail. And I believe his son Lawrence also worked for the railway.

Jean Deschenes, son of Edouard and Eleanor Blier, married Catherine Pinet on Jan 26 1886 at St. Louis du Ha Ha (Temiscouata). There is no record of a marriage for Edouard and Eleanor in the Rimouski diocese, St. Patrice de Riviere du Loup, St. Georges de Cacouna, nor St. Antonin. I do not have the records for Trois Pistoles, which would be the next place to look.

Your question has many answers. No Catholic church is registered for a location in Viger. There are several parishes with older records in Riviere du Loup. You might try any of these:
