Felix b 1842 has claimed to have lived in this area when he was a child. Cannot locate any info on his parents. Mother's name was not listed on death certificate father's name was Felix also. Possible brother of Isaac born in 1825. I can trace Felix and his family all the way down to present but cannot find any record of Felix as a child living in Quebec. Any help would be appreciated. Jill

Hi Jill,
Do you have a wife's name for Felix born in 1842 and also a wife's name for Isaac born in 1825 ? Do you know if your Pelkey moved from Canada to Maine ?
I had found some Pelkey in Carleton Co. New Brunswick Canada and they were originally from Quebec and specialy Riviere-du-Loup which I believe could be the ancestors you are looking for.
Waiting for more information so I could probably find the clues to your problem.

Hi Rosaline, Felix never permanently moved to Maine but he did die there close to Sherman Station in Maine. He was just visiting I was told. Felix's wife was MArgaret Guiggy. Isaac's wife was Susan Perkins. I have all the family history to the present on both Felix and Isaac. But again I can find no absolutely no trace of Felix or Isaac's parents. Either Pelkey, Pelky Pelletier or Peltier. Any help will be so much appreciated. Jill

Hi Jill,
First of all it is clear that Felix Peltier (Pelkey) was not born in Riviere-du-Loup as I passed the whole register 1842 and 1843 page by page and there is no baptism there for a Felix Pelletier or even a Felix which could have been born illegitimate.
Now On the death record of Felix Pelkey in Sherman it says that his father's name is Alex C. (which could be Alexis ...if you read Alex C. it sounds like Alexis) there again I went through the records in Quebec trying to find a marriage before 1842 for Alex or Alexis Pelletier and nothing again.
According to the 1901 census Felix Pelkey got married before 1870 as Leroy his son was 31 at the time. He probably married in Carleton Co. somewhere - If I could find this marriage I will let you know but I am sure there is no parent's name given because here in New Brunswick there is an awful lack on this kind of information.
Probably come back to you tomorrow if something found.
