I think your family must have owned a photography studio in Northampton, Massachusetts. I have a photo taken by Amond J. Schillare from Northampton.

Not sure if you are still curious about Amond J Schillare - photographer, Northampton MA but here is a link to a biographical review that appears to have been written about 1893(?) - http://www.ebooksread.com/authors-eng/biographical-review-pu...

PS - you'll have to scroll down a bit - the format is a bit ropey and there are several biographies in succession...

Don't know if you found the ancestry of Alice, so I went looking for a bit more than the previous replies to your original post...

According to the date of birth you have listed for Alice, being Aug. 22, 1860, I found her baptism in St-David de Yamaska (source: Drouin Microfilm/Ancestry #dp_20220105 - Image 24/41 - record B112), but under the given name of Émérence Schiller, born and bapt. the same day, daughter of David Schiller and Angèle Mondore.

Note that Schiller is the correct spelling of that family name; it varies according to the officiating priests who have a tendency to translate every name into French according to how it sounds. And once she migrated to the States, it is understandable that she would have a chosen a given name easier to pronounce than Émérence.

David SCHILLER (Chilaire in his marriage record), son of Télesphore (aka Théophile) and Étiennette Lemire - born 16 Jul 1828 Maskinongé, Qc [Drouin #dp_25581485 Image 23/54]
Marriage: 15 Jul 1851 St-David de Yamaska (Richelieu County) Qc [Drouin #dp20211233-26/54]
Angèle MONDORE, daughter of Pierre and Marie Turcot

Télesphore SCHILLER, born & bapt. 5 Jan 1804 Louiseville, Qc [Drouin #dp_252506641 Image 1/27] - son of Benjamin and Marguerite Hébert-Lenoir
Marriage: 22 Oct 1827 Maskinongé, Qc
Étiennette LEMIRE, daughter of Antoine and Marie Josephte Dupuis

Jean Benjamin SCHILLER, Master Surgeon, said to be age 26 at his marriage
born abt 1757 Konigsberg, Germany - died 10 Jun 1835 Maskinongé, Qc
Marriage: 14 Jul 1783 - Notary Antoine Robin (source: PRDH No771322)
Marguerite HÉBERT, age 19, daughter of Pierre and Marguerite Desrosiers, from St-David de Yamaska. Marguerite died 17 Jul 1843 Cap-de-la-Madeleine, Qc

The marriage probably took place in St-David, residence of the bride; their first child, Marie Marguerite Schiller was born there on 20 May 1784 and died on 15 Aug 1784. All their other children were born in Louiseville (Maskinongé County) Qc except for one, Sophie, born in Yamachiche, Qc.

Hope this is of some help...
