Thank you for these postings. It has really helped me alot.

Royal Degon and Alexina Martel were my grandfather and grandmother.

I have been stuck for quite a while trying to figure out my grandmothers maiden name and her parents.

I know her other siblings names and other info.

Glad to hear that but.....

MARTEL was the maiden name of your grandmother's mother. Your grandmother's maiden was GIGUIRE. Maybe it was the way I entered the information that caused your confusion.

I looked at the répertoire @ Ancestry just now for St-André, La Sarré. One of the bits of information contained in the marriage of your Grandparents is the residence of your grandmother's the parents.

Were you aware that your Grandfather's parents were from Malone, NY?

Unlike earlier répertoire I've worked with which will specify "de cette paroisse" aka "of this parish" and leave nothing to chance, this priest entered nothing for your Grandfather's parents' residence so apparently is was to be assumed that unless otherwise stated, residence was the parish of St-André, La Sarré.

Your grandfather was of age - "majeur" but your grandmother was a minor - "mineure".

Signatures of both your grandparents appear on the marriage. Since you've supplied your addy, I will send the répertoire image to you.
