I am descended from David GAY (1769 to 1861), who settled in Vernon River (Lot 49). IF my family tree is correct, he is a descendant, through his mother (Thankful HAYWARD), of the Mayflower pilgrims. Has anyone descended from him applied to join the Mayflower society? What are the pros and cons of applying?

I did not apply just for the pure expense of it and I did not see what more it could provide me with what I already had. I think when I looked into it there was 6 generations of official certification I needed to find and purchase to officially link.
