I am searching for Winston Griffin from Ontario . He was born abt. 1918 and served in the Army stationed in England in the 1940 's. He fathered a daughter there and she has been searching for information on her family. His father may have been named George, mother's name is May , brother named John, two sisters, Veronica and Betty. Veronica married a Jones. If this sounds familiar to anyone, please let me know.

According to the 1921 census, George (b. 1886) and May (b. 1894) Griffin lived in New Toronto (Winston is listed as 2 years old). George is listed as immigrating from England in 1909 but May was born in Canada. His occupation is given as "rubber maker".
It seems likely they got married Dec. 20, 1911 in Ridgetown, Kent, Ontario. Her maiden name was May Gerildine Waller. George Griffin's parents are listed as George Griffin and Sarah Chapman. May was the daughter of Arthur Waller and Julia Daws.

Thank you . My friend is trying to determine if she has any living relatives on her father's side. She never knew him.

Thank you for the article. Winston had crossed the border into the states to get on a ship going to France. Apparently his family knew nothing of his plans. Thanks again for your help.
