Hello, I am in need of some help as I have hit a wall. Ancestry.com wants $3000 to "help" me. I am looking for a Thomas Wakefield Marshall that was born around 1840 in Montreal. The first record I have of him his 1862 marriage. I can't seem to find him in either the 1861 or 1851 censuses.

Here is what I know:
Thomas Wakefield Marshall
Born around 1840
Church of England
Married Anne Hanley in Hamilton in 1862

Any help would be great!

Hi, From Find a Grave Online
Thomas Wakefield MARSHALL - 75 dcd June 25 1915
Annie MARSHALL 74 dcd Dec 31 1917
Minnie ? - age 38 July 6 1900

OBITUARIES for the above - may have been published - May show names and locations of other family members at the time - which may lead to more current family - and information

You mention a research fee of $3000 - interesting - What sort of research were they going to do for that fee.

According to his marriage record his parents were William and Mary Ann Marshall, however every other record has his parents listed as unknown. There was a William and Mary Ann Marshal in the 1851, 1861, and 1871 census in Quebec, but Thomas was still living with them as of 1871. My Thomas was in Hamilton, married with children by that point.

Thanks.

Hi, The fee of $3000 seems overly excessive - hopefully you will not consider this fee.
There are many reliable genealogists - researchers - who will offer research at a much lower fee.
