I have been going crazy trying to find church info for the Hamilton area. This is some of what I found out.

The first church in Hamilton was built in 1824 and was First
Methodist Church. Before that the community was served by circuit ministers. I still do not know where there home base was but it was probably in Niagra Co.

St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church was built in 1834 and renamed St.Paul's Presbyterian Church in 1873. It is still in existance at 70 JamesStreet South in Hamilton. The first minister was Alex Gale a Scottsman. One other note. St Pauls and the Parliment Bld in Toronto have world class clock & bell systems in Canada. I do not remember who rated them or how picked but I suspect the total weight of the bells was a major factor.

Even by 1840 Saltfleet was serviced by circut riders. These was also probably based in Niagra Co.
