Does any one know the names of the different churchs or congragations of Hamilton during this period? I am looking for a marriage 1818 and a christening 1822. These were two different families. The girl of 22 married a boy probably from the marriage of 1819. The probably lived in Ancaster and the boy Saltfleet. However, both locations were close enought to Hamilton that they are now part of the city. They were married by Gale a very Scottish minister. I believe the girl Beth Mcmullan was of Scottish descent. The boys family Dutch Reform. I suspect the Dutch family had to change churches if no Dutch church was present. I assume the couple met in church. Gale had a church in Hamilton at the time but no records of him being a minister can be found in Unified records even though he had been part of that church. Gale broke from the Unified Church to go with the Free Church not long after he had been unified. Gale ministerd one of the first churches with a building in Hamilton, St Andrew's. I am guessing the church was established long before the church was erected in 1830.
