Yes it was but I believe the name actiaslly indicatesd more than that. I do not know but I am guessing that that may indicate a Scottish branch. I have come up with more information. The event was performed by Alex Gale who ran a St Andrews church in Hamilton and has been listed in other St Andews churches on ON. It is possible that he served as a circut Rev when he preformed the marriage. If so it is possible that the record could have been registered in the records of Hamilton of Niagra as occuring in Saltfleet. I can understand Hamilton but not Niagra. I know the recoord exists in this form because the event has been in the IGI for years as a Saltfleet event.
I found an excerpt where a professor taught in Toronto under Gale. Most references of Gale indicated great respect of his learning.
I do not know whether he was born in Scotland or Newfoundland.
