I guess I meant the son may have been a courier. The Knapp boys also couriers, stayed in the states after the war but may have taken the free land. They may have tried to forget that part of their life. It ruined their father and all their inheritance. Israel Knapp only loaned his estates to his eldest son until his death. Tim was disinherited. However, the painful part was two brothers were murdered because of the affair. One was lynched by Col Delancey the other was murdered by Titus Mead. The Col disobeyed orders from Gen Delancey to bring him in for trial which he would have gone free. However, their was a deep personal grievance which the Col was willing to ruin his carrier to kill Knapp. The Col was lucky he was caught, his uncle already signed papers to transfer him down to fight the Swap Fox.
