Aaron DOAN, Rhoda COOK, Robert, Joshua, etc Tory Doan
Hello My main search is for the family of this man Robert DOAN born about 1805, son of Aaron DOAN and Rhoda COOK . There are extensive writings on the Doan family of Bucks Co PA to Ontario but little is known of Aaron DOAN, born about 1756, Plumstead, Bucks Co PA, died Humberstone, buried Steeles Cemetery. even less on Rhoda COOK his wife, is she a COOK of Cooks Mill?or born PA also; . Aaron DOAN [6] Born Bucks Co, sentenced to hang as one one of the Tory Doan, but the sentence was commuted on condition he leave the USA, he was Commuted to Canada, Settled in Humberstone. Son Robert, was in Crowland, but I find nothing about him, he was the father of Marjorie DOAN, wife of Luther Boardman and surely others, His brother JOSHUA Doan, no dates known was supposed to be the father of Catherine DOAN, 2nd wife of Luther Boardman, one of these 2 men is probably the father of also; Mary Ann DOAN, born Crowland or Humberstone, August 9, 1826 Mary Ann married to Richard Edward PRATT of Crowland and is my G G Grandmother I seek any info on the DOAN of Welland Co and I have lots of info to share Dee Chautauqua Co NY.

I know very little about the Doans except that a number of my Stewarts married Doans. These include a Phoebe Ann Doan who married Joseph Stewart and Betsey? Stewart who married a Daniel Doan from Waverly New york. I have information about an Elizabeth (Betsey), the one I thought of above, but she is supposed to have been married to a Joshua Doan born 1808-1883 and had a son named Caleb. This is new info so I have not sorted it out yet.

Re: Aaron DOAN, Rhoda COOK, Robert, Joshua, etc Tory Doan
Hello Dee,
I met a lady at the library (Welland, Ontario, Canada) who had come all the way from Michigan to research the family of Aaron Doan and Rhoda Cook Doan. She was particularly interested in finding info on Rhoda and the Cook family. I know it has been quite a while since you put this query on the RootsWeb message board but I was wondering if, in the meantime, you have learned anything about Rhoda and the Cooks. She left me her email address so I can relay info to her or have her contact you.
Regards,
Sharon Welland

Subsequently his body was found, where he had been shot on the banks of a small stream, just above the residence of Hon. James C. Hi Dee,
Thankyou for your prompt reply. I have forwarded your information on to the Michigan lady I met on Friday. I have also sent her your email address. I hope she gets in contact with you. She seemed very knowledgeable about her Doane kin and may have info to help you fill in your own blanks.
If I can be of any assistance in lookups (cemetery transcriptions, etc.) at the Welland Library, just let me know by email.
Thanks again,
