Questions:
What might have prompted the move from NH to Welland Co.?
Is there any significance to Daniel's being listed as Lt. and Capt. in NH? War of 1812?

Any information or suggestions will be very much appreciated.

My family is descended through David P. Clark, and I was able to find the family Bible which lists some birts and deaths. If you are interested in any infromation from it, I would be happy to give it to you. The bible was a present to Betsey Patterson from her brother, John, in 1834.

Yes! Good things do happen to those who wait. I would love to have the information you describe. David is a missing piece of the Clark Family puzzle. I have a photgraph of him, and my cousin was named for him, but I've never been able to find anything about him, except for a marriage to Rebecca and names of his children. Betsey Patterson's parentage has been a mystery, too.

My ggaunt was Lida Clark, a daughter of Robert Patterson Clark, David's brother.

I have considerable information on other siblings, and I'd be happy to share that with you.

I found a thread which you wrote on Ancestry.com from 2006 and we contacted in 2009, however I'm not sure what happened. I am related to David Clark, brother of Robert Patterson Clark.

Here is the information which I have on him is slightly different than what you have listed. I have that David was born 3 Nov 1817 in New Hampshire and Died 8 Apr 1891. He married Catherine Padden (b1837 d1874), however her father was from Canada, so I'm not sure if they were married in Canada or the US or of the date. At some point the family moved to Toledo Ohio where all of the children were born:

Caroline Ann Clark (my gg grandmother) b10 Aug 1854, d 4 Oct 1911 m Louis E Rutter in 1872

George Clark b 1861 d?

Alfred P Clark b 1865 d 1900

William Clark b 1868 d?

Other names listed in Bible :

Michael Padden D 1 Jan 1873

Ann Padden (his wife) d 15 Dec 1872

Elin Padden d 15 Apr 1860

Rose Padden d 26 Jan 1865

Sarah Padden d 7 Jan 1869

Thomas Hoyte b 1795 d 18 June 1870

I have scanned photos from the bible, however the bible is old and not in very good condition.

Please contact me if you have any questions, I would appreciate any information which you have to share.
