Marriage records?

Marriage records?

Hello there,
I'm wondering how to go about finding marriage records for my ancestors who lived in Welland Co. A bunch came from Bertie Township. I'm originally from Buffalo, so not too far away when I come back to visit my folks. Is there somewhere I could go to find that information? Do any of the libraries there keep records on microfilm? The marriage I'd be looking for took place c. 1842. I'm not sure if birth records were kept c. 1822, but I'd be interested in that route as well. Are there churches in the area I should check out? This branch of my family was predominately German.
Thanks,
Danielle

If you give the names you are interested in, I can have a look at the old district marriage records at the Archives of Ontario.

I'm looking for the marriage between Martin WILHELM and Catharina WINGER c. 1842. Some trees list it as 7 Jun 1842, but no sources listed. I'm not 100% positive on Catharina's last name, either. Catharina was born c 1822 in Bertie Twshp.

Thanks so much!

Sorry but according to my sources at the archives, the Niagara District marriage records from that era no longer exist :(

Here are some links...in no particular order... that may be of interest to you:

1. The marriage of one of Martin’s daughters: 11490-80 John SMITH, 45, farmer, Stamford twp., Willoughby, s/o James SMITH & Janet McCREDIE, married Delilah Elizabeth WILHELM, 24, Bertie, same, d/o Martin WILHELM & Catherine WINGER, witn: John WILHELM of Bertie & Dinah HEXAMER (Heximer?) of Willoughby, 11 Feb 1880 at Drummondville
