Re: Book Look up Request - Immigrant - Passenger
Hi John Thanks for the look up. Was really hoping that there would be some reference to parents although I knew Justus Schlarbaum travelled alone. Need to get to your area to do research one of these days. Still have family in the area. Thanks again. Next stop marriage certificate.

Re: Book Look up Request - Immigrant - Passenger
Hi Ruth,
Are you hoping that you might find the parents' names on the marriage certificate of Justus and Martha? In the 1840s the parents' names were in almost every case not recorded on the marriage registration. After civil registration came into effect in Ontario in 1869, the parents' names were recorded, but often it did not give the mother's maiden name.
In case you do not already have these:
012800 Henry STUEMPFLE, 32, potter, born Preston, residence Preston, s/o Michael and Catherine, married Christine SCHLARBAUM, 21, born Preston, residence Preston, d/o Justus and Martha, witnesses Jacob SCHLARBAUM & Jacob WERLICH, both of Preston, 24 July 1873 in Preston. Pastor Wurster.
011117 Joseph FUCHS, 26, tinsmith, b. Preston, res. Preston, s/o Xavier & Eva, married Catherine SCHLARBAUM, 24, b. Preston, res. Preston, d/o Justus & Martha, witnesses John A. FOX of Berlin and Frederick SCHLARBAUM of Preston, 3 Sept 1878 in Preston.
It appears that most of the above individuals are buried in the Old Preston Cemetery.

Re: Book Look up Request - Immigrant - Passenger
Looks like he came by himself from IBA/Rotenburg. His file is with the Kassel regional government Best 17b Gefach 98, vol 42 page 108.
The only others of that name or the variations you gave were a Henrich 1838 from Richelsdorf/Rotenburg and an Adam age 17 in 1846 from Luedersdorf/Rotenburg.
Cheers, John

Many thanks for the information. Now I have Rotenburg, Kassel, Hesse as his home. I'll check with the LDS for parish register of that area. Can you tell me what IBA means in his listing? Thanks again, Jana

Re: Book Look up Request - Immigrant - Passenger
Hello! I see you have the Inge Auerbach Hesse Immigrant book and so I would be grateful if you could look up Gertrude Klueber who emigrated in 1837. Where was she from, who did she come with and where did she arrive and settle. I think she was with Breitenbachs and settled in Cincinnati. Thank you for your help!!!!! Kent
