Hi,

Does anyone have a copy of the Downeyville Pioneer cemetery records. I would appreciate a look up on what is said about a couple named Edward Roche and Catherine Roche who are buried there.

Thank You.
Catherine

I would also like to know if there is a list of those buried in Downeyville before 1865. I believe my ancestors Francis McCabe and Rebecca Muldoon McCabe are buried there (as indicated by his will of 1862.) I believe the cemetery was moved subsequently but I don't know if anyone produced a list of the tombstones that were in the old cemetery.

Sorry, but there is no listing for a McCabe in the transcript of the Downeyville Pioneer Cemetery (nor for St. Luke's where they moved some of the graves).

May I have a look up please - Jeremiah Murphy, Susan Murphy (1st wife), Elizabeth (Eliza? 2nd wife), or Cornelius Lines - father to Elizabeth (spelling can vary) - or any LINES/LYNES names for that matter. Thank you.

In Downeyville Pioneer Cemetery, headstone reads...
Jeremiah Murphy who died Feb. 10, 1847(?)

only Murphy recorded, no Lines or Lynes.

Do you know why some of the graves were re-interred?

Hello. You might also want to look under Callahan/Callaghan. The Lynes family have been known under both names. My great great great grandmother Hannah McNamara was married to Patrick Lynes/Callahan. Patrick was Cornelius' brother I have a little bit of information on them if you need it.
