I am currently researching my family tree and I've found a person of interest named William (Willie) George Bryson. He was born in Owen Sound, Ontario in 1899. When he was 12 years old, I believe that he ran away from home, "rode the rails" and ended up in Fort William (Thunder Bay), Ontario.
In Fort William, I believe that he met my great-grandfather, Sam Bieuz, who was 31 years old and working at the rail yard. Sam was married to Catherine, and they had two young daughters, Mary & Anne. I'm not sure if the Bieuz family took Willie into their home, but they certainly did know and appreciate him. In 1912, Sam & Catherine named their newborn son William Bryson Bieuz.
In 1915, Sam died and Willie went off to serve in WWI. When the war was over, Willie returned home to Owen Sound, married Jennie Eva Gray and had 2 daughters, Catherine and Mary. Catherine and her husband Andrew Wilson had a son named David B.
I'm looking for Willie's descendants, to see if anyone knows of his adventures riding the rails in Ontario as a boy, meeting my great grandparents, and then going off to war.
Thanks,
Steve Smith
