His name was Stefan Ladyka. Born around 1896. Married in 1920. His father was Fred Ladyka and mother Annie.
I don't know how long he had been in Canada. Says he was born in Austria, but that seems unlikely. More likely Russian
His marriage lic. says he was, in 1920, a section foreman for CNR.
His son was told at age 5 by relatives, his father was killed in a rail accident. We don't know the date of this "death". His mother had died in 1923 of TB, but son was told she died giving birth to him. Stefan was listed, I think as living in Toronto in 1923. Stefans wife died in Toronto.
