Surnames: Raynor Sheppard Beadle
I am looking for a George Henry Raynor from Westport, North Crosby Twp, Leeds County, Ontario who married a Verna Elizabeth Sheppard born at Otter Lake, Foley, Parry Sound District, Ontario. They were married in Timmins, Temiskaming District on August 23, 1916. I do not know if they lived in the area at the time of the fire.
Verna's father's name was William Sheppard. Also looking for the "Beadle" name which was George Raynor's mothers maiden name.
Thanks in advance, Doug Sly - Brockville, ON

The names Raynor and Sheppard are not listed.
The Great Fire of 1922 did not reach Timmins.
It basically covered parts of Savard, Chamberlain, Ingram, Pense, Truax, Cane, Hudson, Firstbrook, Coleman and Lorrain Townships.
It covered all of Robillard, Dack, Evantural, Tudhope, Bryce, Beauchamp, Armstrong, Hilliard, Brethour, Henwood, Kerns, Harley, Casey, Dymond, Harris and Bucke Townships and parts of Quebec including Montreuil, Nedelec and other areas.

What a great gift you've given to all these people who contacted you.

I was looking at the 1911 Cobalt, Ontario newspaper and saw this "EXTRA" about a fire which killed up to 300 people. I thought you'd like to have the link so that you could put it in your files with the 1922 fire.

http://news.google.com/newspapers?nid=bXvxhPDrUX0C&dat=1...

I am took a screen print of the front page for reference only. It is not meant to be read.

Thank You.

Hello Bonnie,

I am not sure if your offer to look up surnames in The Great Fire of 1922 still stands, but if so, part of my KILLORAN family came from that area--would you kindly let me know if you come across any of them in your book?

Many thanks!
