Mr. Ufland/Upland is not in the book. However I did get a reference to his death and his obituary on the Paper of Record.
Miss Leone Ufland of Detroit, who came to attend the funeral of her father, David Ufland, left Tuesday for home.

DAVID UFLAND
A resident of Elk Lake since 1908, David Ufland passed away at his home on Friday. He was born at Meaford, December 19, 1860. He had been in ill health for some time. Deceased is survived by one daughter Leone, of Detroit, three sons, Glen of Buffalo, N.Y., George at Greenbay, Wis., and Earl at Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.; one sister, Mrs. Frank H. Brown, Roselle Park, N.J. The funeral was held Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock at the United Church with Rev. H. Bailey officiating, and interment was in Elk Lake Cemetery.
Mr. George Ufland and Miss Leone attended the funeral.
