Hello Paula;

They should have named Rossport "Gerow-ville," as they were a prominent fishing family there.

I have many newspaper BMD references from 1920 - 1942 for the Gerows if you want to contact me directly at daveresearch@yahoo.com.

I am not sure about the captain as being a part of his name
Captain Frederick GEROW...

there was a message about their family being into fishing...
maybe he was captain of a fishing boat in Rossport....

I think he is related also to a David Gerow that was killed in the line of duty as a fireman in the area...who was Captain David Gerow...

The fishing thing is what I am thinking...
Thank you for the Marriage reference...
and Charles' census info...

I am going to keep an open mind on the Captain thing...I never thought of it that way before..If I can get ahold of an obit for him then I will know for sure..

Thanks again

Got your reply
I know of your family but not details about them
mother is Mavis....
At this time I have only an outline of the family
I have some of the details on Madgelena and a few on Charles..
I am researching from Charles and Magdelena down
my branch of the family comes in with Magdelena..not Charles

Would love to hear from you
