I found Lillian Audrey Mary Masons' obituary online:
Lailey, Lillian Audry Mary
Published: Monday, March 17, 2008
Sept. 23, 1912 - Mar. 14, 2008 A caring, loving, outgoing lady has gone to rest. It is with great sadness that the family of Audry Lailey announces her peaceful passing, with her family by her side, in Ottawa. Born in Fort William, (now Thunder Bay), Audry graduated in nursing from McKellar General Hospital, winning the gold medal in her class of 1934. Predeceased by husband Donald, parents Bert and Lillian Mason, and sister Wilda (late Bill) Davies. Dearly loved mother of daughter Pat (Grant) Jessup of Ottawa, and son Bob (Brenda) Lailey of Sault Ste. Marie. Beloved Nana to her four grandchildren: Christine (Patrick Morissette and daughter Erica) Lailey; Karen (John) Fischer, all of Ottawa; John (Jenny) Jessup of Vancouver; and Rob (Shannon) Lailey of Barrie. Beloved "G.G. " to seven great grandchildren - Caitlin, Lillian, and Mark Fischer; Megan and Evan Lailey; Davis and Olivia Jessup. Fondly remembered by sister-in-law Gwen (late Sidney) Lailey of Perth, niece Joan (Bil) Lingard, and children - Jack, Jane, Lee, Jill and families of the USA, and cousin Owen Wheatcroft of Vancouver. In 2000, Audry moved to Ottawa to be closer to her daughter and family. In 2002 she moved into Harmer House where she made many friends. Audry had an active lifestyle and a "joie de vivre" that was admired by many - in spite of the challenge of blindness for many years. Her heart was always in Thunder Bay with memories of happy times at Silver Islet and especially her late, dear childhood friend Margaret Holloway (McCutcheon/Garner). A memorial service was held at the Tubman Funeral Homes, Ottawa, on Tuesday March 18th 2008. As an expression of sympathy, donations to Harmer House Endowment Fund, or the C.N.I.B. would be appreciated. Condolences, donations, or tributes may be made at
www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com. A memorial service will be held this summer in Thunder Bay. Caitie, Lily, Mark, Megan, Evan, Davis and Olivia, you are her future. Rest in Peace dear Mum. Love you forever.
