Would someone be so kind do a lookup at the Sudbury Library in the OGS publication "Leclair Funeral Home Records" Since it is reference material, I cannot order it through inter-library loan. I have three names, which if I'm correct should be husband, wife and son.

If you would be willing to do this, please email me directly and I will give you the catalogue information and the names.

Thank you
Linda

Hi,
I am trying to locate the headstone of my Grandmother Marguerite Halverson (Hearn)who died in 1921 in the Sudbury/Coniston area. Funeral was handled by Leclair Funeral Home. Is there a way to find the their records to begin looking for the cemetery. I believe she was Catholic.

She may not have a headstone. There are a number of Halversons descended from the Wolf Lake family buried in Garson.

I have located the church record for Margaret (Hearn) Halverson. She was incorrectly listed as Margaret Fitzgerald wife of Patrick Halverson. The records asks for her maiden name and incorrectly specifies her mother's maiden name. Her funeral was at St. Anne in Sudbury Dec 12th. She was probably originally buried at the old St. Anne cemetery which was originally located near the church and which was relocated to Lasalle Blvd. There is a St. Anne section in the Lasalle cemetery.

I began my search again to find the headstone for my grandmother Margaret Hearn Halverson in Sudbury. I wanted to thank you for this information which I some how missed when you posted it back in May. I did not find her in Lasalle - St. Anne but it did help to know that there is a chance that her place of burial has been moved and that is why I am having so much trouble finding her.

I've had a look at the Leclair record published by our Sudbury District OGS Branch. Unfortunately it only states the burial location as 'Sudbury' ...

On the matter of Ste. Anne's burials being moved, according to a 2014 publication re LaSalle Cemetery, the moves happened about 1909, so I don't believe your Marguerite's burial would be involved. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Thanks for the information on the 1909 date. I do have a copy of the Leclair Funeral Home directory and like you said it only states Sudbury as place of burial. I have contacted the Sudbury Cemetery office twice by phone and they could find no record for her. My understanding is that they have to have the information by law. Hopefully I will make it to Sudbury in the spring to see if I can find someone willing to have a real look. I feel that as my grandmother she deserves to have family visit her gravesite to make sure it has been taken care of over the years. Sadly I have to find that place first.
