Re: Aults in Dundas Co., Ontario, Canada
I recently came across an old collection of newspaper clippings from the late 1800's-early 1900's collected by my great aunt, Clara Ault, daughter of William Levi Wood Ault (1848-1921 Cornwall Centre) and Wilda Dixon (1855-1918 Moulinette). One article in particular is about Pte. Alfred E. Ault - son of I.R. Ault. He isn't in my family line and I can't seem to find them on the internet. I would love to share all I have with anyone interested. She kept wedding announc. etc. with many surnames other than Ault. Do you have names I might look for in Stormont, Glengarry and Dundas. It's seems all Aults are related - and there's an awful lot of us from Ontario. Sincerely, Kathleen Western PA

Re: Aults in Dundas Co., Ontario, Canada
Hi Kathleen, I am not a direct descendent of this line either, however I have an Ault Genealogy book which lists: "Alfred Ernest Ault 1869-1907, the fifth child of Isaiah Richard Ault and Mary Ann Loucks...he married Mary Martha Wingard and they had 3 children: Aileen Ault (married Kenneth Glenn, had two daughters) Lawrence Ault (never married), and Dorothy Ault (never married)."
Is there mention of Catharina Ault Annable, George Annable, Sarah Annable Campbell, John Ault, Maria Beebe Ault, or Anna Mary Chatterson Ault in any of those clippings, by chance?

Re: Aults in Dundas Co., Ontario, Canada
My cousins Patsy and Frank Ault live in Dundas. They are from the founders of Aultsville. My line is the Rose clan. Also from Dundas. I will have to look the information up if you are interested.

Re: Aults in Dundas Co., Ontario, Canada
Richard - Thank you so much! I "met" Patsy this past year and she has given me a world of information through the Dundas website. If I happen across any newsclippings with your Rose family (my great aunt saved many from late 1890's-1920) I'll get back to you. Any other families from that area you might be interested in? I have some wonderful things to share. Thanks again. Kathy

Re: Aults in Dundas Co., Ontario, Canada 2004/05 thread
Hey Kathleen,
I just started researching AULT geneology for my grandmother, Dorothy Ault (b. 5 Dec. 1905 to Alfred Ernest Ault & Mary Martha ("Mimie") Wingard of Long Sault, Dundas County, Ontario. I just stumbled across this thread; I am excited as this is a family branch that we know little about.
My grandmother Ault (Dorothy) died Jan. 1, 1955, before I was born (also predeceasing all seven of my other siblings). To correct Michelle's post, Dorothy married my grandfather, Frederic Jay Wells on Oct. 3, 1925 in Ontario and they went on to have three sons before divorcing: Frederic Hume (1926-2008), John Jay (1926- ) and my father, Peter Augustus Jay (1935-1967). Dorothy Ault Wells died Jan. 1, 1955.
The Wells family resided in the USA (NY, MI and CT), where my grandfather was a naval officer. Each of these sons had families of their own and have expanded another two generations on top of that!
Interestingly, all three Wells/Ault sons settled permanently in Canada (ours & Hume's family in Nova Scotia, while John still resides in Alberta).
I would be extremely interested in having a copy of the paper clipping about Alfred E. Ault emailed or mailed to me. Any other copies of articles or photos from my North American AULT branch would also be of tremendous interest:
Dorothy Ault (1905-1955) Alfred Ernest Ault (1869-1907) Isaiah Richard Ault (1824-1889) Nicholas N. Ault (1793-1871 Nicholas Ault (1748-1812) Johannes Ault (~1716-1796)
Also interested in anything on the spouses, siblings and/or children of my direct Ault relatives, particularly, Dorothy Ault (my paternal grandmother), her mother ("Minnie" Mary Martha Wingard); great great grandparents, William E. Wingard & Norah Rose, etc.
Let me know if I can return the favour.
Many thanks, Christina Jay Wells Ryan Etobicoke, Ontario
