Looking for any leads on Irene Mary Stuart Minshall (b. 1913 in Brantford, I believe).

According to her wedding announcement, she was the daughter of Mrs. E. M. Ansleye of Brantford, Ont and a registered nurse. On 26-Feb-1941, in Regina, Saskatchewan, she married Flight Lt. John Donald Coleridge MacDonald the son of Dr. John Donald MacDonald of Ingersoll.

Her husband was buried in 1984 at the Ingersoll Rural Cemetery and the tombstone shows Irene was born in 1913 but has no death date.

I would appreciate any info on her or suggestions to find same.

Thanks Jane for both your reply's. They contain a lot of new info for me to work with. Had no idea they had a second son as an example.

l'll need to look closely at the 1921 Census info.

Hi Bob,
I found the 1921 Census curious and thought you may want it for future reference. It is interesting because 1. The use of Stewart as a second name and the mother's name as Mary could equal Irene Mary Stewart Minshall. 2. The year of birth is 1915 and not 1913. The headstone may be incorrect, but if she was born in 1915 it would explain why a birth record hasn't been found. Ontario birth records are released to 1913. Hopefully soon more years may show up. 3. I looked at Google Maps and found Ingersoll, Tillsonburg, and Brantford are in close proximity.
I will keep hunting for an obit.
Good Luck
Jane

Yes, I agree about the 1921 Census.

I have the newspaper announcement of the wedding of JDC and Irene (see attached). It states her mother's name as E.M. Ansley. Not sure how E.M. and Mary Stuart matches for her mothers name assuming she had remarried.

Your #2 is a compelling thought.

Will need to continue the search.

I really appreciate your help with this.

Bob,
When I was looking for Mrs. E.M. Ansley, I was trying to remember that the initials E.M. may also belong to her husband. In that time period this was done a lot.
No problem with the help, fresh eyes can't hurt.

Still looking at the 1821 Census.

Did find that Harry Gilbert Minshall (b. 1879 Ont) married Mary Stuart Edgington (b. 1902) on 12-Feb-1914 in Woodstock, Oxford, Ont. on Familysearch.

Her parents were John Edington and Mary Stuart.

So the names match somewhat and they were in the same general area.
