Surnames: Mooder
Recently I discovered that my Great Great Grandfather Mooder died at the County home at the age of 88 and that his former home was in Coldwater, Ontario. We could not find a death date for him before this and ofter wondered what became of him. If anyone has any more information, would love to hear from you.

My husband's parents also had a friend by the name of Jake Delaney who also ended up here. Any info on him also would be appreciated.

Thank you for replying to my post so quickly. It looks like you've run into the same roadblocks that I have. John's son Otis was my great grandfather and his daughter Mary Minnie Mooder-Perkins was my grandmother. Since she lived to be 96 years I got a little information from her before she died but it was mostly on the Kottka side of the family (her mother). Her uncle had managed to keep in touch with her over the years, however she did not have much information regarding her dad or his family. Because she was left motherless at the age of 4, her father Otis boarded her and her 2 brothers out to neighbouring families and she did not have much contact with him until she was about 16.
I did not know John's death date until last week when my brother-in-law, who is also helping to research the family was at the Barrie Public Library and happened to find a copy of the Northern Advance published 21 Sept 1916 and his death is mentioned on Page 3 near the bottom "Deaths at County Home" from the Beeton World. I just don't know where to go from here.
