My ancestor is William McCarty and Zilpha (or Zilpah) Wood or Woods. Both were born around 1780 in New York. William was said to be int he War of 1812. They were from Saratoga County, New York. They had two children that I am 100% positive
1. Clarissa McCarty in 1800. (my ancestor)
2. Hiram McCarty in 1802.

Their are 2 others that may also be children.

1. Chancey (or Chauncey) McCarty, b. abt. 1816 in USA
2. Perry McCarty, b. abt. 1819 in USA.

They all moved to Tecumseth township, Simcoe County, Ontario, Canada, probably in the early 1820's.

Zilpha died in 1846 and is buried in Tecumseth. If anyone has information, please contact me.
