I am attempting to determine the name of the first wife of William Splan (1815)of Simcoe. His second wife is Rebecca Brown. It appears that there were eight children born from his second marriage. However, earlier, there were nine children born to a William Splan, including my great grandmother, Margaret M.Splan McAfee. Her birth date is 1867. Rebecca did not arrive in Quebec until 1868. Altogether, it appears that William Splan was father to seventeen children. I am hoping that someone can clear this up and/or give me the name of his first wife.
