Have recently found some new info. on my 3rd.xgr.grandparents John and Catherine McGregor. Still not sure where they married in Perth,Scotland or when. But now know positively she was born a McGregor also in Perth sometime between 1800-1803, she also had a brother Alexander McGregor who worked in 1856 as a wheelwright on a bridge being built at the time called the(Allen Bridge) possibly near Sterling. Catherines husband John McGregor was a coutoure shoemaker ,obviously shoes and boots for the wealthy,I now know besides him being born on June 10.1800,that he had a brother Moses McGregor, a brother Gregor McGregor, both with wives and families in 1856. Gregor at this time living in Paisley,Scotland, and Moses living in Lochlomondside at this time. John also had a sister Margaret married to a Peter McIntyre, they lived at this point in Sterling area, in place called Croftsalva or something similar. John also had n Aunt Isabella McGregor married to a James McIntyre at this time, possibly living in Sterling area. So this new info. added to the fact that John and Catherine emigrated to Horton Twp.On. Canada in 1831 hopefully will help shed some light on who their parents were and from where in Perth,Scotland they originated and when married. Anyone with people in thier family trees who m,ight be related and have info. to add, please reply.
