George and Lena were my great-grandparents. Norman Wagness was my grandfather's brother-in-law. Please post back if these are the same people and we can go from there. They were from Rainy River/Fort, Norm was in MN.

Nicholas Nick Dustak, 86, of 923 Sixth St. E., Fort Frances, Ont., passed away Monday, May 24, 1999 at La Verendrye General Hospital here. He was born May 13, 1913 in Rainy River, Ont. to the late George and Lena Dustak. In 1929 at the age of 16, Nick moved with his family to Fort Frances. He attended Teachers College in North Bay and taught school for six years. Subsequently, he went to work in the woods for Campbell and Holmes for three years, and also had worked on the Kenora Highway for a couple of years. After that, he began working with Alex Thompson as an apprentice plumber and later as a full-time plumber. In 1951, he left and joined the Ontario-Minnesota Paper Mill, where he worked for 28 years until his retirement in 1978. He served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. #29 in Fort Frances since 1946. Nick is survived by his son, Frederick of Fort Frances; and his daughter, Marlene Dustak of Ottawa, Ont. Also surviving are two grandsons, Shane and wife, Kathy, and Allan; one granddaughter, Melissa and husband, Derm Norman; one great-granddaughter, Tannika Norman; and one great-grandson, Chad Dustak. Also surviving are his sister, Evelyn and husband, Norman Wagness of International Falls, Mn.; four cousins, John, William, Steve, and Florence Domitruk, all of Winnipeg, Man.; as well as several nieces and nephews, and good friend, Alden Molnar of Fort Frances. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Joyce Dustak (nee Parker) on Dec. 18, 1989; brothers, Fred and John Dustak; and sister, Florence (Mrs. Norman Martin). Memorial services will be held Friday, May 28, 1999 at 10 a.m. at Green Funeral Home, with Envoys Eric and Sylvia Alcock officiating

Evelyn Wagness, 88, of International Falls, Mn., passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at the Falls Good Samaritan Center in International Falls.
She was born Oct. 26, 1919 at Rainy River, Ont. to George and Lena Dustak.
The former Evelyn Dustak was united in marriage to Norman Wagness. She was an active member of the Women of the Moose and St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; daughter, Judith Burton; brothers, John, Nick, and Frederick Dustak; and sister, Florence Martin.
Survivors include her sons, Barrett Wagness of International Falls, Mn. and Warren (Suzi) Wagness of Duluth, Mn.; grandchildren, William Wagness of Duluth, Mn., Douglas (Dina) Bigler of Naples, Fla., Kristi Bigler of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Sean Michael Leeman of Wisconsin; and great-grandchildren, Joseph, Jason, and Justin Bigler.
Also surviving are her nieces, Marna (Howard) Bobczynski of Fort Frances, Ont. and Gail (Don) Berry of Atikokan, Ont.; nephew, Frederick Dustak; and great-nieces and nephews, Patrick, Christopher, and Jillian Bobczynski, Shane and Allen Dustak, Melissa (Duram) Norman, and Courtney Berry.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. at Green-Larsen Mortuary in International Falls. The recitation of the Holy Rosary will be given at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Church in International Falls.
Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in International Falls.

my great grandfather gus martin was in rainy river the same time so you might get them mixed up, mine had gus martins lumber yard and wife.
