I am related to Jean Cote, born July 23, 1603 in France, married Anne Martin in 1635, and died Marcy 27, 1661 in Quebec.

I'm still getting my family tree together on Ancestry.com and adding more to my father's work.

Will be glad to share what I have.

Hello jtshannon166,

I am looking for more information on Richard Shannon who came from ireland to peterborough. I don't know the ship. His wife elizabeth Gillman I found from another post came on the John Barry. If anyone else has information on either descendants of Gillman or Shannon(I have some of course) I'd be happy to share. But I would like to find out more about Richard Shannon if possible. my email is sromolo@gmail.com

Was there a Cornelius Kennelly in the family you were looking for. A Cornelius and Ellen Kennelly were sponsors for a Tierney ancestor of mine named William Thomas Tierney. His parents were Martin and Elizabeth (nee Doyle) Tierney. The baptism was at the Immaculate Conception Cathedral in St. John, New Bruswick, Canada on August 14, 1887.

Just curious...how did you make that connection with the baptism? I was wondering if you had been related to either the Doyles or the Tierneys.

The Tierneys were related to the Thomas Leo Murphy's of PEI. Elizabeth also had told my mother,(Dorothy Johanna Tierney)that she grew up on Prince Edward Island.

Thank you again. Christine
