Thanks Art for answering the RH equation.

But now opens up another child with no father. Can it be Cornelius, Peter or one of the John's that is his father.

Just to add to my previous post

Cornelius that marries Caroline is not Peter Mastin and Hannah Nelson's son,I believe this Cornelius is the one with land in 1808 an probably Peter's brother.

Peter's son Cornelius is born in 1821 and married Elizabeth Ferguson in 1848 and Hannah Lowry in 1878

Their children was

Eustastia 1851 m Robert Branscombe
John 1854
Matury J 1859
Elijah 1862 m Sarah Alley Bedell
George 1864 m Louisa W
William 1866

Also have some more names to list of unsure were coming from

Eleanor m Robert Hycks in 1806
Frederick m Deborah Rightmyer in 1834

Yes, that sounds more realistic. But still, can't put a face to this part of the family ! Cornelius had to be born in the 1780's or 90;s. I've tried to locate Caroline's surname,
but that is almost impossible. As far as children, I have only found -Ichabod, and Minard. I feel there must have been a Cornelius and a John.Possibly a Rebecca and a Jane.
This all had to have taken place between 1815 - 1825.
A lot of these records were not kept, I feel that Caroline's surname is important .

I have no Rightmyer in tree so not sure who this Jane is either.

I am not sure if still around but there is a C. Mastin d 1829 age 56 years buried at Cameron Cemetery in Hallowell Twp.

His mate is Perlina(close to Caroline) who died 1864 at age 77

I believe this is the Cornelius in the 1808 Hallowell Twp census in the end and was a son of Aaron and Rebecca.

THere is a picture of the grave. I have been to the site recently. Hard to find and overgrown but the picture on the web is mint.

Hello - I haven't been on this subject for quite a while..
I had found the Headstone you mentioned, and came to the same conclusion! It's the right time and age to be my g.g.grandfather.. Many times I have just ignored the Cameron cem. Altho I think he was the son of Cornelius C.Mastin and Rebecca Roosa..
So, it still leaves me 'up in the air " ha
My dad was Melbourne Clifford Mastin,, son of Isreal Mastin , son of Ichabod Mastin, son of Cornelius Mastin.
And why I'd like to have it solved .

I realize this is an old post but I have been trying to locate information on Isreal Mastin (1846?-< 1901)for my friend. Isreal is her great grandfather and her grandmother is Aleatha Jane Mastin who I believe would have been a sister to your father Melbourne Clifford Mastin. I have been unable to find Isreal Mastin's marriage or death. If I am connecting things right, there is probably some connection to the Empire Loyalists.
Thank you for your time.
Sincerely,
Diane Thornquist
