His sisters birth two years later was recorded as "Edesse Laviolette" in STe Madeleine Rigaud QC but i cannot locate his and its very important to our family. His parents marital record was stated as Joseph Luversant and Marie Rose Lefebvre (wed on 14 Nov 1836). any help would be greatly appreciated

Role Name First name
Child LUVERSANT Joseph
Father Luversant Joseph
Mother Lefebvre Rose
Godfather Luversant Arsène
Godmother Cadieux Emélie
Sex Birth Baptism
- 1837-07-03 1837-10-07
Parish Location County Province Country
Ste-Madeleine Rigaud Vaudreuil QC Canada

Dates are backwards, so born 3 Jul 1837 and baptised 7 Oct 1837.

I've attached an image with two copies of the baptism. One is from here on Ancestry, the clearer version is from Familysearch. The link to the familysearch image:

The reason the kids were baptised in Rigaud is because there were no parishes in Prescott county until 1846.

Thank you so much for this help! I would hug you if i met you!! We have been searching for this record forever literally. My great grandfather started looking in the 1960s. So this is ONE mystery solved. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you.

NOW I have another query:

YOU have now confirmed that the record you located cannot be the same person named "Jos.Liversant" who died in Bay City Michigan at aged 42 on August 5, 1892.

THUS, I have another query. This is the info that i have:
I have a handwritten letter from St. Mary's Rectory of Bay City Michigan USA which clearly states that

"Jos. Liversant date of death August 5th, 1892, date of burial August 6th 1892, age 42 yrs. Priest: Jos.Schrembs and cemetery: St. Joseph"

The letter explained that Jos. Liversant's remains were moved to Calvary Cemetery outside of Bay City in the 1950s as St Joseph's cemetery was transformed into a parking lot.

This Jos. Liversant was married to Albina Robillard on 24 February 1873 St Louis-de-Gonzague, Beauharnois, QC and Albina was forced to put 4 of her 8 kids into an orphanage in 1894.

Do you have any idea how I would locate birth/baptismal record for "Jos. Liversant" born ABT 1850. It is possible that he was an illegitimate child in my opinion.

Any assistance would be AWESOMELY appreciated.

I found this in the 1871 Canadian census:

Liversant Jacques Male 63 abt 1808
Liversant Phebée Female 48 abt 1823
Liversant Angele Female 24 abt 1847
Liversant Joseph Male 22 abt 1849

I would guess that Phebee is a second marriage, but so far I haven't located any marriage for Jacques.

still poking around :)

Hi,

I am the grandson of Leo Livingston who was admitted to the orphanage on August 11, 1893.

I see that Nowak47 is involved with the family history blog noted below.
