A brother of
Ernest Dorsey Rumary migrated to Canada in 1880s, believe he died there. What more do you know about Barbara/Beverly?

I am a descendent of Ernest Dorsey, known as Dorr E.

gimarq@AOL.COM

OK, so far I have discovered that the Canadian Mining Association is at the organizational level, not individuals. I can contact member companies to see if he worked for them, but there are a bunch, so I will have to work my way down.

Hmm. Canada is pretty tight with the information!

What about immigration documents? Would those be available? I know that a cousin also came to the US through Halifax, Nova Scotia on May 15th, 1890. His name was Meletius Peter Dutkewich.

Other than voter's lists you likely won't find out much more about them.
Deaths are released to 1939; marriages to 1929 and births to 1913.
Last census released was 1911 with the 1921 to be released this year. But neither one is of any help to you.
Try canada411. There is one Dutkewich listed in Peterborough.
Have you tried their obituaries?
Eudoxia should have been listed with the Ontario Medical Board.
If Alexander was a geologist perhaps he was a member of the Ontario Mining Association or Canadian Mining Association.
Check the mines around Peterborough.

Found on Google

Dutkevich, Eudoxia, Peterborough,
Ont.; USSR, 1928; FRCP[C]; general pathology; part-time pathologist,
Peterborough Civic Hospital. Died
Jan. 4, aged 74; survived by brother
Alexander.

She died about 2002 in Peterborough. Perhaps there would be a more extensive obit for her in the Peterborough paper.

Try this site for a researcher. He is very good and not too pricy and does the area in which you are looking.
http://www.ontariogenealogy.com/database.html

Peterborough site
http://www.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~onpeterb/vital-stats/

Hi,
I have attached an image of the marriage certificate. Ancestry has the bride as Sevina but I believe it is Levina. Also ancestry has the marriage year as 1926 but I believe it is September 1920. The exact day in September may be 1.
Hope this helps,
Jane

From ancestry index

Name: Frank Godfrey
Birth Place: Kings Lynn England
Age: 27
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1899
Father Name: John Godfrey
Mother Name: Lerna Valentine
Spouse Name: Savina Elizabeth Christie
Spouse's Age: 28
Spouse Birth Year: abt 1898
Spouse Birth Place: Otonabee Tp
Spouse Father Name: Edward Christie
Spouse Mother Name: Jennie Fife
Marriage Date: 1926
Marriage County or District: Peterborough
DUTKEVICH - St. Peter's Hospital and other things

My relatives lived in Peterborough from around the time of the second world war until they died between 1978 and 1980.

I have found information on my cousin, Dr. Eudoxia Dutkevich, but it's almost nothing. She was a doctor at St. PPeter's Hospital, which became the Peterborough medical center. I contacted the Sisters who ran the hospital and they said that they only have info on the nuns. The hospital records were supposedly sent to the city archives. When I contacted the archives, they told me to contact the nuns. ><

Eudoxia's brother Alexander Alexandrovich Dutkevich was a geologist. I can't find anything on him other than voter records.

Their mother Alexandra Minovna Dutkevich lived with them until her death in 1978.

I can't locate any immigration documents or anything else. Can someone point me in the right direction for Canadian immigration information?

Yes I am certain about the couple not having children. I did find that your Frank Young and Henrietta Weber had two more children. Edward born in Detroit. He married Josephine Rousseau b: 1874. Daughter of Thos. Rousseau and Josephine Droullard. They married April 27, 1898 in Detroit, Wayne, Michigan.
Another son Frederick W. Young married Lucretia Ulrich on Feb. 23, 1892 in Michigan. She was the daughter of Jos Ulrich and Gusta Reno.
Not 100% sure if these two belong to your family. But it is possible as they were from Germany.
Possibly search census records in Michigan to locate family if you haven't done so with these names. Hopes this helps a little for your research.
Are you absolutely sure that Francis and Catherine had no children? It brings into question all my research! I have conflicting documents: one that has a John Young marrying an Anna Kieley. Francis J Young and Catherine Young were listed as John's parents. The second document is John's death certificate. Anna is his wife but his parents names are Frank Young and Henrietta Weber. Both from Germany.
I saw the census documents that show Frederick and Mary living with Frank and Catherine and honestly I wondered why John was never listed..ever!
I guess I'm not really sure which Young family I belong to at this point.

Yes there were two Young Families living in the Young's Point area, neither were related as stories told to me. In the Young's Point cemetery, and the Old Cemetery By The Lake there are Young's buried (older stones). I noticed on your tree that you have Frank Young and Catherine Crough listed as parents of your individual. This couple had no children together if you look closely at the census records. They did take care of Frederick and Mary(Children belonging to Samuel and Margaret). Hope this helps.

I to am a descendent of Francis J. Young. His son Francis (Frank) W Young was my great great grandfather. This branch of the family is quite sparse of information. My grandfather (Earl B Young)and great grandfather (John B. Young)have some information but very incomplete.
I did notice that in the family tree there was a Young marrying a Young. At first I thought this can't be! But on further review I realized there was another Young clan.

Town Hall Cemetery, Peterborough

Several years ago someone did some searching for us to find the grave of Stephen Town / Towne / Townes who died in 1856 on his way to meet a brother. He was said to be buried in the Town Hall Cemetery at Peterborough. The father died in Clinton Co, NY, in the War of 1812 and the children had lost contact with each other.

That researcher found that the cemetery had been moved and could not find any records at that time.

The computer with my email went to cyber heaven and I do not remember who helped me or what they found.

We find it necessary to document this Stephen Towne from Stephen Towns, both born in Clinton Co between 1800 and 1805. Stephen Towns died in 1900 in Tuscola County, Michigan.

Hi, The Young's Point cemetery is on-line. The web-site shows headstones. I see you are a member of ancestry, check out other trees there is tons of info.
One has to remember there were two Young Families living in and around Young's Point back in the day.
I am down Francis Young 1. He married Mary Howran. I am doing mainly the Howran Family Line, starting back in 1825 to present.

Sarah Anastasia Aylward 1854-1929
m Eugene McCarthy 28 Oct 1877 (St. Joseph Church Registry (from Family Search), Douro, Peterborough, Ontario, Canada.

In 1861, Sarah Aylward is living with her parents and brother and sister: Laurence (48), Mary (48), James (12), Mary (9), and Sarah (7)

In 1871 census, a Sarah Aylward (17) is living with her mother, now a widow, her brother and sister.
Mrs. Aylward (57), James (22) and Mary (19).

It is of interest to note that the brother of Ellen Buck 1818-1846) live next door.

George Buck (56), Mary Buck (52), and Ellen Buck (15).
Ellen, though 17 years old, reports that she is a school teacher. There is a variety of evidence to support this information including first hand accounts. The Ellen Buck here is the child of George Buck and Mary Eagan.

She appears in the 1901 census and 1911 census for Toronto as Sarah McCarthy with her children.

I know that she is born in Canada. That is it. Other than this, I have nothing. Any help please.
Hello:
I am trying to find someone buried in St. Peter's Cemetery by the name of Josephine Colquhoun. I have found her husband, William, who died in 1915 and a couple of their sons buried in Section F. on OCFA. I called the cemetery and they told me they had no record of her death. I don't know where to turn to for help.
Do you have any suggestions?

Mary
