Edward GILL and Maria BICKELL came to Canada via New York in 1836..He , a stonemason, worked on the Welland Canal , then came to Fullarton Township. They raised eleven children:
Eliza, Eliza Sophia, William Henry,Edward William, Charles Henry, Richard Bickell, Maria Jane, George, Caroline Elizabeth, Frederick John and Robert. The latter two settled in Blanchard Municipality, Manitoba.
